    Angesom Teklu

    Angesom Teklu is a Research Associate at the Center for Youth and Communities at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management, Brandeis University. Angesom is working with the Center on University-Community partnerships in Ethiopia.

    Before joining Brandeis University, he worked in the nonprofit sector with a specific focus in youth development and social entrepreneurship. In 2015, he joined the Eastern Africa Youth Forum as Eritrea’s country coordinator based in South Sudan and served on the planning committee that organized the 5th EAYF regional youth forum. In 2016, he was appointed by the U.S mission in Eritrea to initiate a country chapter for the Young Africa Leaders Initiative (YALI) – the biggest network of young leaders in Africa. In his role as a program coordinator, he led program planning and operations for the chapter, coordinated and led youth development programs and maintained a strong network of YALI alumni in Eritrea.
